Lately, I’ve noticed… :
how fucked up our society is. people pick fights with people they don’t know. everyone tries to be an "original" when there is truthfully no such thing. people are basing their friends on what music they listen to? and hating others for their taste in movies, fashion, and music? how shallow is that. I’m tired of seeing magazines plastered with ideas of weight loss and models that are on the verge of collapsing. People like paris hilton and celebrities that encourage drug and alcohol use and think they’re above the law aren’t role models, they’re a disgrace.
america has gone to the shits. teenagers seem to forget their age and think they’re above everyone just because they listen to a different or "underground" band (that truthfully every "sceneXcore" kids knows about). kids walk around thinking they own everyone around and pass dirty looks because someone doesn’t dress like them. I’m having a hard accepting myself because all people do is criticize others who happen to be curvy, but they’re still fucking beautiful, not to mention HEALTHY. and god knows they don’t spend their lives obsessing over numbers. teenagers break their fucking backs trying to fit in with the "in" crowd, which happens to be the crowd that spends all their time trying to portray perfection, and god knows who they REALLY are. what happens when highschools over, and you’re not all high and mighty? who’s there for you then? when all you have is your 6-pack of beer and a bad reputation? I’m noticing kids younger and younger trying to fit in with this "scene". I’ve spent too long trying to be perfect, and now I’m noticing how many people are doing the same.
Perfection is different to everyone, how can you make everyone happy? I don’t think you can. I’ve noticed people trying their best to make that one guy or one girl happy, when that person doesn’t care, and probably never will. why does that ONE person have to accept you? when all the people that already are there for you already accept you. what makes that someone ruin or make your day? I hate seeing girls fish for complements or say things just to make someone else feel completely miserable. I know I’m no saint, and I’m a bitch at times, but I come clean to it. and I don’t give a fuck what people say about me, cause I almost killed myself doing that. I love how our society thinks they’re SO original, you didn’t invent that style kid, and that haircut isn’t "yours". That genre of music? sorry, its been around for a while. Who has the fucking right to tell someone they aren’t a photographer? and they aren’t really an artist.
life is art.
Stop criticizing someone for being different, and even worse, for liking OMGSZ! the same thing as you. You didn’t invite writing, or photography. And clearly, you’re not the only one who likes that band, otherwise they wouldn’t be signed to a labelThat song isn’t ONLY your favourite song, and you’re not the only one with that band shirt. And, guess what? you’re not the first kid to own vans or converse. they’re MASS companies. everyone wears tight pants and everyone wears eyeliner. You’re not the only teenager that is "in love" and you’re not the only teenager that "goes through hard stuff" and struggles with self acceptance. with a world so fucked up, its hard to be happy with yourself. when everyone is telling you you suck because you either [a] are different or [b] like the same thing as them.
now tell me, how the fuck are YOU different.
[p.s.. this isn't based on anyone specific, just our society in general,
this isn't pointed at any of my friends or foes, its based on how
culture is making it impossible for anyone to be satisfied with who
they are and what they do. kay thanks]
